Flower Porn

I hope I don't cause problems for myself by using the term "porn" but it seems to be the new catchword to describe pictures you want to ogle. I first heard it from Kim, she talks about the food porn on the Vegan websites she's reading. Then yesterday I saw someone use the term "Quilt Porn" so this just seems to be the next step.

If you have lower case font problems like my friend Debi who sees YAM every time I write about YARN, you may think I'm talking about POM, but that doesn't make sense. If I see a lot of people finding my blog by searching for Porn I may have to rewrite this.

Drooping Peony's, I use tomato cages, but they just aren't tall enough.

Close up.

Here's my first Sweet Pea, I have several that have bloomed now, gee I only planted the seeds in April.
Double Black Poppy - just before they bloomed
Full Bloom
Close up in afternoon sun.

  2. Your poppies look almost as big as peony blossoms. I don't think I have ever seen double ones before, and I have never seen black ones.

Oh my, Karen. It looks like all your hard work is paying off.

For the peonys, I used to put 4 stakes around them and tie strips of pantyhose around the stakes. Make the stakes as high as the peony will grow. The stakes will weather and the pantyhose won't show. The flowers will look like they stankding on their own.

LOL This is all the gardening advice I know. Other than staking young sapling trees in the same manner to hold them upright as they set their roots.

This is my kind of porn.

  4. I'm so jealous of your black poppies! I planted some but the slugs have eaten them all! By the way, people don't set their comment email responses to no-reply; no-reply is the blogger-bot that tells you you've had a comment. The only way I can respond to comments is to follow someones name back to their profile, then to their blog, and make a comment on that. It's the worst thing about blogger I think! :-)
