ROTFL!!! Too funny, Karen. Your knitting adventures almost makes me want to take up the needles again. That last till I price out yarns at the yarn shop. Yikes! What a difference a few years can make.
I once bought a whole case of Aran wool yarn to make a fancy afghan. The cost was $1.95 per skein. I had that stuff for years. Once I remarried, I made Richard a gorgeous sweater full of cables, popcorn and other Aran type stitches. He loved it and wore it till the day he died.
