What Knot's September Meeting

 Chris is busy making baby quilts.

 And Verna is making quilts to give away too.  The upper one is a wedding present and the lower one is for one of her brothers.

What Knot's August Meeting

 Linda S completed this quilt.

 Chris made this baby quilt.  The blocks were discards from another project re-cut to make this cute quilt.

 Kathleen made 2 preemie donation quilts.

And Kathleen also completed this lap quilt that she will be donating to Bonnie's Team.

What Knots April Meeting

 Gail free motion quilted this top she had made a number of years ago and created some wonderful free motion feathers in the black spaces.

 Georgi put together this t-shirt quilt as a retirement present for one of her library co-workers.  She is also making a companion quilt that will be hung in the library.

 This will be the last time we see this Hunter's star Quilt that Linda C is giving as a wedding present.

Marian found some blocks she started "a while ago" and had lost interest in making enough for the full sized quilt that was planned.  She put what she had together and backed it with fleece for a great cuddle quilt.

What Knots March Meeting

 Chris made this baby quilt.  The blocks are "I Spy" objects with some crazy quilt type piecing around them.

 And this fabulous fabric is the back of her quilt.

 Continuing the "I Spy" theme, Georgi fussy cut animals from a print and used them as the center of her blocks.

 Marian barely made a dent in her stash using up scraps to make this quilt that just kept getting larger.

Verna completed a table runner from Hunter Star blocks.

2012 Wrap Up

I need to finish up 2012 before I can dive into the new year.

What Knots annual Christmas party/luncheon, hosted by Marian and her daughter Martha.

One of the party activities is that everyone brings a block, made to that year's theme.  It originally was Christmas until everyone that was in the group at the time won the blocks, since then we've been changing up the theme each year.    The above quilt is Georgi's, made from the blocks she won.  We always enjoy seeing these quilts each year and remembering all who made the blocks.

Here's is Ann's quilt.

Ann and I were the last 2 to get Christmas blocks (the same year) and here's what I've done with mine.  Yes, nothing, but everyone was very helpful with ideas of how to arrange them.

A number of friends received these owl pin cushions as gifts.

And here is Milo in a favorite spot under the Christmas tree.  I had my left hip replaced just before Thanksgiving so I had a great excuse for not doing too much holiday prep.  Dave really stepped up decorating the tree and doing the garlands around the windows.

I did get everything put away and am now ready to dive into the new year,  full of resolutions like more exercise, more creativity and just being a better person.

 Anara completed her split 9 patch and she's going to keep it for herself.

 Ann has another present completed.

 Gail made a baby quilt using colors that are currently in fashion.

 Linda C made this quilt for the daughter of a friend.

Birthday fabrics I received.  For the month of your birthday you get to request what kind of fabric FQs you would like.  I asked for Kaffe Fassett or similar type of designs.  These ladies know me well, just my colors (though the picture is a little off, the table they are sitting on is blue)

What Knots June Meeting

Gail started us off with a cautionary tale, this is a quilt she made and gifted in 1998.  The recipient brought it back to her because the threads were breaking.

 Gail had machine quilted it with 100% cotton thread which she later discovered broke very easily.  Gail has since re-quilted this and removed all the old thread.

 Verna is participating in the "It Just Takes 2" project, making specific blocks with just two colors of fabric, she is using white and black.  This is only 1/4 of the project.

 Linda S made the monthly blocks from the Moonlight Quilters Guild celebrating their 20th anniversary.  She put them together as a birthday cake.

 Georgi rescued this quilt and has finished/re-quilted it.  With lovely hand quilting, of course.

 Linda C created this quilt for the fabric challenge that was revealed in June at the Moonlight Quilters Guild.

 A friend of Kathleen's gave her a number of dresses she bought and wore when she lived in Africa.  Kathleen was challenged to make a quilt with the unique fabric from these dresses.  Both the front and the back are gorgeous.

What Knots May Meeting

We had a small group this month, and I was only at the meeting for an hour.  Ann showed us this wonderful bright quilt she made.

Gail shared this quilt after I left, but Chris took a picture and sent it to me so I could include it here.

What Knots April Meeting

Verna started us off with this sampler quilt she made for her sister to celebrate 50 years of wedded bliss. Some of the blocks in this quilt were received as friendship blocks.

Marian string pieced this cozy scrap quilt.
She also made these fabric baskets, wonderful yo-yo embelishment on the lid.

I showed this split 9-patch I completed.

Ann is making more quilts as gifts.

Chris made this to use in their camping van, it hangs to separate their bikes from their living area.

Gail perfected some machine quilting skills on this quilt.

Kathleen (our newest member) brought this quilt from her collection. Since she is fairly new to the group she needs to catch us up on her work.

I showed this quilt that I made for my mother-in-law in 1995, it is Hand Quilted!

Georgi made this baby quilt from left over scraps.

Verna won many of these fabrics in a raffle and put them together into this quilt.
